Mailbag

posted by stevesbets

The admin of my blog and I have enjoyed the emails I receive from readers around the world since the inception of this website. As an avid follower of Bill Simmons on www.espn.com, I have recently realized that I should follow his mailbag tradition as I have been selfish for not sharing these emails, and responses with the world. I have rarely responded to emails for privacy reasons, but now with the mailbag feature, send away, and there is a very good chance that your email can be highlighted on Stevesbets’ Mailbag.

From Jackob:

From Pim:

From Shawn:

This is kinda weird to ask since you don’t know me but this is one of the poker blogs I read and saw your recent post on jeans. I typically wear cheap jeans from old navy and am sick of them and had been thinking about buying nicer jeans from now on for a while. I could go to banana republic or a similar place but am curious where you get your jeans? I agree that designer jeans are not a ridiculous purchase. Even if they were expensive I’d still prefer plain jeans without any showy designs on them. Thanks for any help.

Shawn, this is the most practical email I’ve ever received. I think it is difficult to advise you on jeans without knowing your body type as fit is the number 1 criteria for selection. I am tall and thin and I find that Rock and Republic fit me the best. If you are similar, they currently have a “recession collection” where pairs can be had for as low as $100 and they are very simple cuts and colors which seems to fit your taste. If you wish to try on a bunch of different brands, I recommend a department store like Nordstrom. I used to die in those places when I was little while my mother and sister shopped for who knows what but now I enjoy going in because I can just browse through the jeans. Hope this helps.

From Luke:
Yo stevesbets.
Just curious, what high school did you go to? I grew up in Lower Merion and went to LMHS. Based on you saying how your HS had smarter people than UPENN, I’m going to guess FCS?

Hey Luke, I don’t know if this is a joke or not, but I did in fact go to Friends’ Central. I lived pretty close to LMHS growing up, we were probably neighbors

Hi stevesbets. My name is guilherme i have 17 years old.

I play on Pokerstars, 2 months, started a short time in poker, I started playmoney won in freerolls each and did a box for $ 300, was very happy until my friend Logged your account on my computer and my account was blocked by mult account and could not recover as minor. I created a new account with the data from my dad all right. You keep all your games in HeadsUP at Pokerstars. I saw your picture and tried your blog on google. I wonder if you would help me with some”charity’’so I can return to play with real money.

If you really can help me I will be very grateful. My nickname is XXXXXX

Thanks

Not quite as good as Bill Simmons, but a solid attempt and concept none-the-less.

Now give me $5. I’m entitled.
