I was more than upset when my pathetic Knicks passed on him and also the reason to watch the Knicks this year. I felt about Bernie King the way you feel about the Answer. He has some ball left, the fact that some team can't find a good spot for him speaks volumes about their managerial abilities.

I am not only also from Philadelphia and a huge Philly sports fan, but I was a student at Georgetown while AI was there. I'll never forget his first game with the team, an exhibition game against the French National Team. AI had 30 points at the half and had just run off the dribble right by anyone and everyone who tried to guard him for the entire 20 minutes of play, and right then and there we all knew we were watching something special.

So you can imagine how excited I was when my home town team drafted my college hero. It's a shame though to see how his career ended up. Despite all the greatness, AI will always be remembered for two things:

1. "Practice? We talkin' bout practice!"

2. Throwing his wife out of the house onto the street, naked, after a domestic dispute and then waving guns at her naked body and threatening her until the Philly police came to quiet things down.

He may have had the best first step in NBA history, but man did AI prove to be a loser in the end.

The only thing that's disapointing to me about A.I's career is refusing to use his talent to make another players better as his teammates became better. Even now he could be a top five point guard if he accepted the role of directing an offense though passing, rather than scoring. It was a miracle that he got the 76ers in the finals that year. The rest of that roster was average at the very best.
