End of prop bet and disappointment with pokerstars
I already received a number of questions about my prop bet with N 82 50 24 when people saw me in a cash game on full tilt. The prop bet came to an end this afternoon with Nat buying out of the bet. His reasoning was that I had already played at least 500 sngs if not the 600 sngs required by the bet, and it was very unlikely I’d just give away 1k by wanting to play something else over the next month. My reasoning was, I don’t really like playing those HU sngs as much as I used to. The player pool is smaller, and the one of the few regular fish, Dariominieri (more on him later), crushed me. So anyway, rather than pay off the whole 1k, I let Nat buy out for 300 plus some other non cash considerations.
I am currently very disappointed with pokerstars for several reasons. The first is that I am one of their leading if not THE leading rake generator for their site of all time yet they don’t treat me at all like a VIP as they should. More frustrating than that, they SPONSOR Dariominieri who is in my opinion one of the bigger scumbags who has risen to “superstar” level in online poker. They repeatedly allow him to break the dumb chat rules which wouldn’t bother me so much if they wouldn’t constantly chastise others for utter nonsense. My last post about Dario was simply a hand with no analysis and it brought the wrath of his clueless and incoherent Italian friends so i can’t imagine what this will bring. Frankly, stars sponsoring someone like that is to me indefensible and I am currently talking to them about it. I plan on playing on full tilt until I resolve the issue.

Steven u are sure a big champion, I obviously support Dario becouse I am italiam , but I disappoint your reaction.
I and other guy say u are a big champion on the basis of your result and we evaluate dario a champion on the basis of him result.
Now u have been crashed only by Dario…
There will be something wrong in your play against Dario, no?
analyze it, we are very interested on your analysis.
Study dario’s play and try to win next time…. poker is a sport!!!!

Hi Steve, I’ve always reputed you one of the smartest online player… however this war against another player sounds a bit not so smart… it seems from results he has really an edge over you and your overreaction it’s a kind of childish… don’t forget he played for a while 5.5k HUs even multitabling… that’s clear to everyone who know him he just downlevelled to grind money. Hi its Dario Minieri, i wanted to answer to all guy who crticized stevesbets on this site and pokcet fives, a guy winning over 350k on sharkscope gotta be one of the best hu players in the world.
I also wanted to thank him, i learn a lot from his style wich helped me in a series hu w pokts in my opinion having an edge.
Thanks steves and sorry cuz i wasnt so nice to you like u to me.
I consider u one of the best and i am greatfull to you for what i learn playng u.

I came here to inform about what Dariominieri wrote about you on his blog at dariominieri.com and was surprised to see he personally sent you a comment already:) He is a good guy indeed… anyway here is a rough translation of what Dario wrote: THANKS STEVESBETS
Despite the arguments I had with stevesbets in the past days, I think it is right to give “Cesare” (roman emperor) what belongs to “Cesare” (it’s a way to recognize other’s people rights/authority). Just yesterda for the very first time I was able to win after a long streak of HU against who i considered till yesterday my black sheep opponent: pokts.
Pokts is one ot the toughest high stakes HU players on pokerstars, and in my previous games with him i’ve never been able to impose my game. And this up to yesterday when i started to adopt Stevesbets’ HU strategy I was finally able to beat him.
Despite he was not very polite with me (I was playing with his nerves in an hironcal way), I must admit i have learned a lot from him and that his results are coming from a vary good
playing strategy.
As I usually do, I observed his style and his game trying to understand the reason of every move of him, so that i could use that techinc whenever necessary.
Therefore, I have to say thank to stevesbets for what i learnt from him. Against tight players, his game style allows to understand better opponent’s hand; overbetting both with made point and bluffing, being able to be paid off, in order to accumulate chips. He uses very well the all in strategy vs. shortstacks, always putting the necessary pressure to the opponent, so that they have to adapt to his game and oblige them to go all in often.

I personally think this is a great tribute to you not coming from normal players like the thousands who already admire you but from one of the greatest young players worldwide. Guess you both are going to have fun together in Bahamas:)
