Aruba, Jamaica…

posted by stevesbets

I can now conclusively say I like the first island in the song a bit better than the second. The hotel is pretty standard but the surroundings are beautiful. The thing I like best about this place is that the beach and pools that the hotel is directly on top of are open 24 hours a day. I have never before stayed in a place where that was the case. I will try to get some pictures up or get Nat to post some.

The tournament is a 5k buy in with an absurd $500 rake per player. On top of that, UB guarentees a million for first which makes the payout schedule realllllly top heavy for the 550 player field. I am still alive with about 156k in chips (we started with 15k) with 100 players left. By far the highlight of the tournament so far was busting Stinger on day 1. I flopped two pair and he made a move on the turn with a gutshot and a flush draw. He followed through after the river bricked and I snap called my 2 pair. Tomorrow should be a long day so wish me luck.

I have had many coaching requests since the WCOOP win and I have not had time to reply to them. I AM going to develop a mechanism to get coaching to everyone that wants it so stay tuned, I will post about that soon.

Switching gears, I have seen some videos of an interview with Sarah Palin by Katie Couric that are absolutely astounding. I pretty much cannot imagine a single person I know sounding dumber than she does in these videos. The fact that she very well may become the president of the United States (according to actuaries there is a 1 in 3 chance Mccain would die during a first term in office) is really really scary for me and I’m usually not all that political. I posted one example below where Couric corners her about what publications she reads to stay informed. Not only is it clear from her response that she does not read, but further she is too dumb to even think of the names of popular publications so she says she reads “All of them”. I honestly think most 5 year olds could come up with a better response than “I read all of them”. Here is the video:

As a final note, since we clearly cannot have America fall in the hands of these people, I want to throw my hat into the race, here is a picture someone randomly made on a forum I thought was funny:

Can you tell me where you got this info? I’ve read very differently actually that there is something over an 80% chance that he lives through the next 4 years

actually just looked up many places and the consensus seems to be there is a 75% chance he lives the next 8 years. so 1 in 4 chance he would die in the next 8 years

If we’re going by the statistics, I’d rather elect a president that has a 33% of dying rather than one with a 40% chance of stealing my TV.

Did anyone else notice in the debate last night that Joe Biden likes to refer to Joe Biden as “Joe Biden?”

here’s what wikipedia says about Palin’s college education down below. basically we have as a possible President a beauty pageant queen who doesn’t believe global warming is manmade and wants to teach creationism in schools who also went to colleges that are not exactly noted for the intelligence of their students.

Palin attended several colleges and universities. In 1982, she enrolled at Hawaii Pacific College but left after her first semester. She transferred to North Idaho community college, where she spent two semesters as a general studies major. From there, she transferred to the University of Idaho for two semesters.[11][12] During this time Palin won the Miss Wasilla Pageant beauty contest,[13][14] then finished third (second runner-up) in the Miss Alaska pageant,[15][16] at which she won a college scholarship and the “Miss Congeniality” award.[17] She then left the University of Idaho and attended Matanuska-Susitna community college in Alaska for one term. The next year she returned to the University of Idaho where she spent three semesters completing her Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism, graduating in 1987.[11][12]
