I agree with alot of what you have said but i personally find it more rewarding in the early stages of a tourny to play loosely. An example is I will be more then willing to play 5-7 off suit in the first few stages just for the fact the blinds are low and there are no antes that a hand like that no one is expecting you to play. If you were to just wait till u get a hand like AK or KQ ect you could be waiting for a long time it does work to play tight to a degree espically later on in a tourny but try playing whatever hand u are delt cheaply just to see the flop and see how that works for you compared to playing tightly. Everyone has their own style each is unique and works in your personally strategy =]

The problem with that question, Heath, is that it does not pertain to what Steve is mentioning here. Comparing a culture and a religion can be two different things, however, a theocracy entwines the two. Therefore someone looking at our culture and saying Lady Gaga makes us a bunch of crazy assholes is not the same as us looking at a muslim theocracy and claiming them to be crazy, because our acceptance of Lady Gaga is not generated by the government which is in turn run according to the laws of a certain god. Now if Muslim countries were to look at our country and decry vice laws that are firmly planted in Christian theology, then the analogy would be apt. I think what Steve means (and I don’t mean to talk for you Steve, this is just how I see it) is that an entire country and all its laws run based off the teachings of a set of rules put forth by a corrupt and (in the case of the woman punished for being raped) very very wrong religion is asinine at best and insane at worst. I think Steve would agree thhat if our country’s entire legal system was run based specifically on rules put forth in the bible, even those that contradict the others, would be just as bad

Hi Steve Bets, I had a couple questions maybe you could make a short response?
I deposited money on poker stars and was wondering whats the best things to play for lower limits cash or tournaments? When you have a set should you check raise on the flop or wait till the river, or if theres a flush draw should you wait to check raise all in on the turn or flop?
Or not check raise ever? I have about $700 and was wondering whats best to play I seem to just get blinded out before I get a good flip to put my money in?

Steve,

I agree with you (although not nearly to your level of extremism) on most your culture/religion posts. Curious, then, how you would respond to the following question (as it has been asked of me during certain debates)- “Obviously, we Americans think things such as the above (the lashes for being raped) are so backwards and counter-progress. However, to someone from that culture, OUR way of living is just as backwards and counter-progress. So, the ‘iranian’ stevesbets would be writing about how crazy we are, and linking to articles about lady gaga and things like that. what makes you specifically, or us in general, any more believable to say our way is “right” versus theirs?”
